Uma vida de nuncas

Ouvi uma vez que “uma vida de nuncas, é uma vida não vivida”. E esta frase trouxe~me a um estado de reflexão duradouro. Não por ser uma frase de difícil entendimento ou por o conteúdo não fazer sentido para mim, mas pelo contrário. A simplicidade e o conteúdo eram tão perspicazes, que eu fiquei só em reflexão, em contemplação.

Quem poderá dizer que vive ou viveu uma vida de forma “desalmada”, a dizer sim a desafios e ao desconhecido, sem receios? Não sei quantos de nós. Os nuncas que nos vão surgindo na vida, estarão a ser proferidos pela nossa mente e boca porque são nefastos para nós? Ou porque temos receios? Muitos? Demasiados?

Se nós vivermos a vida em contemplação das possibilidades, talvez não percamos tanto tempo a temer os perigos. Quando aliados aos nossos valores incorruptíveis, que ditam precisamente os nuncas que devem nos acompanhar toda a vida (ex. nunca maltratar, nunca matar…), podemos desfrutar de uma vida bem vivida.

Coragem, alguém disse, não é ausência de medo. Mas agir independentemente do medo.

Que possamos vivenciar as oportunidades que surgem, em vez de encher as nossas vidas de arrependimentos.

A life of nevers

I once heard that “a life of nevers is a life not lived”. And this sentence brought me to a state of lasting reflection. Not because it is a difficult sentence to understand or because the content does not make sense to me, but on the contrary. The simplicity and content were so insightful, that I was left only in reflection, in contemplation.

Who can say that they live or have lived a life in a “soulless” way, saying yes to challenges and the unknown, without fear? I do not know how many of us. Are the nevers that arise in our lives being uttered by our minds and mouths because they are harmful to us? Or because we have fears? Many? Too many?

If we live life in contemplation of the possibilities, perhaps we will not waste so much time fearing dangers. When combined with our incorruptible values, which dictate precisely the nevers that must accompany us throughout our lives (e.g. never mistreat, never kill...), we can enjoy a life well lived.

“Courage, is not the absence of fear. But to act regardless of fear”, someone said.

May we experience the opportunities that arise, rather than fill our lives with regrets.
