Imagina

“Imagine” é o título de uma canção escrita por John Lennon, sabe Deus quando.

Contempla por favor, agora, a destruição que o Homem, sendo uma partícula diminuta no nosso Universo, conseguiu desde que surgiu como “pensador”. Imagina o que este poder irrefutavelmente transformador poderia fazer se fosse canalizado para fazer o bem. Imagina.

Há quem defenda ou acredite que, este processo na Terra neste momento no tempo, é importante para a evolução da nossa alma. Que talvez só desta forma a alma possa “atingir metas” que de outra forma não seria possível. Reservo espaço para que cada um escolha acreditar no que mais lhe for conveniente. Mas…o que isso nos diz, mais uma vez, da nossa capacidade de praticar o egoísmo?

O ser Humano colocou~se no topo de uma cadeia alimentar. Considera~se o mais inteligente dos seres e por isso tudo é válido para alcançar os seus objectivos. Mas eu discordo. Veementemente. Um ser inteligente não destrói o seu habitat. Não põe em risco todas as espécies que permitem o equilíbrio no seu próprio ambiente, não polui a água que bebe nem a àgua que os demais bebem.  O ser Humano vive numa referência de tempo exígua, não abordando as consequências a longo prazo da sua pouco inteligente acção.

Não é necessário imaginar o que será o amanhã para nós humanos nem para o nosso planeta. Todos somos responsáveis pelo estado do nosso grande Lar. Pela extinção de tantas espécies. Pela dolorosa vibração de sofrimento que paira no ar. Quem levanta o dedo se eu perguntar “quem se sente responsável?”.

Imagina…o que o John Lennon, sabe Deus quando, nos apelou a imaginar.

Imagine

Contemplate now, please, the destruction that Man, being a tiny particle in our Universe, has achieved since he emerged as a “thinker”. Imagine what this irrefutably transformative power could do if it were channeled to do good. Imagine.

There are those who defend or believe that this process on Earth at this moment in time is important for the evolution of our soul. That perhaps only in this way can the soul “achieve goals” that would not otherwise be possible. I reserve space for each person to choose to believe in what is most convenient for them. But…what does this tell us, once again, about our ability to practice selfishness?

Human beings have placed themselves at the top of a food chain. He is considered the most intelligent of beings and therefore everything is valid to achieve his goals. But I disagree. Strongly. An intelligent being does not destroy its habitat. It does not put at risk all the species that allow balance in its own environment, it does not pollute the water it drinks or the water that others drink. Human beings live in a limited time frame, not addressing the long-term consequences of their unintelligent actions.

It is not necessary to imagine what tomorrow will be for us humans or for our planet. We are all responsible for the state of our great Home. For the extinction of so many species. For the painful vibration of suffering that hangs in the air. Who raises their finger if I ask “who feels responsible?”

Imagine… what John Lennon, God knows when, urged us to imagine.
